4. What is POP3?

1. Why do you require an alternate e-mail address or phone number?

This is so that you can be informed when your account has been created and, if you ever forget your password, so you can be informed of your new one.  Top

2. Why do I have to provide a secret question/answer?

Providing a question to which only you know the answer will allow us to verify your identity if you ever forget your password and request it to be reset.  Top

3. I forgot my password.  Can you tell me what it is?

For security reasons, we cannot retrieve passwords.  If you forget your password, you can request that it reset by clicking on the "Forgotten Password?" link on left hand side of the page.  You will then be asked to answer your secret question.  If answered correctly, a new password will be communicated to you via the alternate e-mail address or phone number you provided at sign-up.  You can then log in and change your password to something you can remember more easily.  Top

4. What is POP3?

POP3 (Post Office Protocol, version 3) is a protocol, or set of rules, by which a client machine can retrieve mail from a mail server.  You can download messages using your favourite email client such as Outlook Express or Eudora.  Once you download the messages, they are on your hard drive so you can read them offline.  Top

5. Can I send and recieve e-mails through a web browser?

Yes, webmail can be accessed by clicking "Login" on the left hand side of the page.  The webmail utilities used by killietrust.com are Neomail, Horde and SquirrelMail.  Top
